turkey offsets

I think they're serious, but I'm going to try and have some fun with this:

The folks at Farm Sanctuary are offering vegetarians — and anyone else so inclined — the chance to adopt a turkey for Thanksgiving.

For a one-time free of $20, you get a color photo of your new feathered friend, an adoption certificate, your turkey's biography, and a one-year subscription to the Farm Sanctuary's quarterly newsletter. In the past 20 years, Farm Sanctuary has rescued thousands of would-be Thanksgiving main courses from harsh factory-farm and slaughterhouse conditions.

I think the folks at Farm Sanctuary are missing a big opportunity. Rather than appeal to just the choir, in today's PC world, they should broadly market turkey offsets and take advantage of folks' penchant for paying penance.

Have a great Thanksgiving!
