As I mentioned in a recent post, last Monday was designated Blog Action Day — a day when bloggers worldwide were encouraged to focus their posts on environmental issues.

Now, I don't know exactly how many blogs exist around the world, much less how many of them had a fresh post on Monday, but I do know that Blog Action Day was a huge success.

Consider these numbers:

• 20,603 blogs participated in the global effort
• with 23,327 individual posts
• reaching 14,631,038 RSS readers!

As the image below shows, Blog Action Day commandeered a full 1% of Monday's blog posts.
