Last Saturday's stats focused on American car facts — truly astounding numbers that paint a scene of a transportation system run amok.

Environmental Defense's Transportation Campaign
was designed to gain support for smart transportation reforms, state by state. Well folks, the votes are in and the great state of Vermont has earned the most transformation points in ED's month-long campaign.

Here are the top-10 states, per Environmental Defense's "transformation index." (Each state's score was calculated by multiplying the points earned by the state index - which was calculated based on the State's total population.
