24 sevens

Actually, there are only three sevens in 7/7/07, but the whole world is going to rock for a full twenty-four hours that day!

If you haven't heard, Al Gore, my favorite Oscar and Nobel Peace Prize nominee just became a concert promoter. What will he think of next?

Live Earth — The Concert for a Climate in Crisis was officially launched last Thursday with the announcement that  concerts will be held in Brazil, Shanghai, Japan, Johannesburg, London, Sydney, Antarctica and an east coast location TBD in the U.S. on July 7th. Sharing the stage with Gore at the California Science Center for the press conference launching Save Our Selves (SOS) and the Live Earth concerts were Kevin Wall, Pharrell, Manå and Cameron Diaz.

SOS is designed to trigger a global movement to combat our climate crisis. It will reach people in every corner of the planet through television, film, radio, the Internet and Live Earth, a 24-hour concert on 7/7/07 across all 7 continents that will bring together more than 100 of the world’s top musical acts. Live Earth alone will engage an audience of more than 2 billion people through concert attendance and broadcasts. MSN has partnered with SOS to use its reach to make the Live Earth concerts available across the globe.

With over 100 musical acts already committed–from Pharrell to Korn, Sheryl Crow to the Red Hot Chili Peppers–there'll be tunes for everyone to enjoy. And, thanks to MSN, anyone with internet access will be able to tune in to the Live Earth concerts.
