what will he say?

Last Sunday, I mentioned the climate change legislation co-sponsored by Joe Lieberman (i) and 2008 presidential hopefuls Barack Obama (D) and John McCain (R). Over the course of the past week, climate change legislation continued to be in the news. On Thursday, The New York Times published a comparison of the proposed climate bills and, in a related story, stated:

One of these measures, or a blend of them, stands an excellent chance of passage in this Congress or the next.

That same article went on to state the obvious and ask the key question on everyone's mind:

Neither party is united around any one position. And for all the flurry of news conferences and proffered solutions, the big unanswered question was what will President Bush do?

Indeed, what will President Bush say he's going to do about global warming when he addresses the nation on Tuesday? Of course, that's been a topic of speculation for reporters and bloggers all week. One thing seems certain: he's going to address global warming policy.

That's BIG news, considering the fact that he has never even mentioned "global warming" or "climate change" in six previous State of the Union speeches (according to Environmental Defense).

Listen carefully to what President Bush has to say, and stay tuned for analysis by the pundits and reactions from the pols–particularly the ones who have their eyes on the Oval Office.
